Integrantes del movimiento "Occupy Wall Street" en el puente de Brooklyn
“Ya es hora de que algo cambie en Cuba” dijo el presidente norteamericano Barack Obama esta semana.
“Muchas cosas cambiarán en Cuba, pero cambiarán por nuestro esfuerzo y a pesar de Estados Unidos. Tal vez antes se derrumbe ese imperio”, le respondió el líder cubano Fidel Castro. Y parece que Fidel lleva razón. Es en EE.UU. donde han acogido con inmediatez la exhortación a la urgencia del cambio.
Miles de manifestantes han tomado este sábado durante dos horas el emblemático puente de Brooklyn y se reportan cientos de arrestos por la policía. Muchos de ellos llevan cerca de dos semanas acampados como parte del movimiento “Occupy Wall Street” -que ya se extiende a varias ciudades de Estados Unidos-
Las personas quieren realizar por sí mismas lo que el presidente del cambio les prometió y no ha cumplido. Quizás ellos se han tomado en serio el lema que tanto les repitió Obama: “Yes, we can”.
